I had a great time shopping in NYC! And it was just as much about finding and purchasing products for my clients as getting inspired by great design, new ideas and creative concepts. Everywhere we looked — from store window displays (with both home and fashion) and hotel lobbies to restaurants, small boutiques and more — we were filled with inspiration. I returned home with a head full of new ideas and can’t wait to share them with clients!
These are just a few photos I snapped at the New York Design Center. Above is a glimpse of the Julian Chichester showroom. I love the Mr. Brown line and its popular slogan “English Informality for a Modern Life.”
I was looking for furniture and accessories for a traditional-style client. Our goal was to find items with a modern or transitional twist!
There were also lots of amazing furniture and accessories from the Sedgwick & Brattle showroom. These rope-wrapped light fixtures, shown at left, could be used as single elements or in multiple-fixture canopies. I’m considering these for a girl’s room project — a chic, modern space with soft grays, whites, greens, and sunny yellows! (This reminds me of one of my favorite past A Lists — Hello Sunshine!
The Sizzle cocktail table from the Wendell Castle collection, shown here, discovered in the Dennis Miller Associates showroom, is absolutely fabulous. The wood-topped table with sculpted base in three size options and a lot of finishes is perfect for a contemporary family-room project I’m working on.
Start spreading the news … New York, New York, has inspired me … especially at the Design Center.
