Emerald. That shade of green – so jewel-like, rich and polished — can be absolutely mesmerizing.
I actually became entranced with the color (once again, as it was a while back the star of one of my blogs about a bathroom with emerald walls) while researching grass-cloth wallpaper the other day for one of my clients.
We are creating a formal dining room in her home and while browsing various wallpapers at the Michigan Design Center in Troy, Mich., I stumbled upon a beautiful emerald-green grass-cloth beauty called Glazed Abaca Emerald, from Phillip Jeffries.
Phillip Jeffries is, in my opinion, the industry leader in handcrafted wallcoverings. A manufacturer and importer of unique and fine-quality textured wallcoverings, Philip Jeffries turns out amazing stuff! It’s my number-one source for grass-cloth and textured wallcoverings.
Back at my studio, I just couldn’t resist compiling these little mood boards, shown here. Emerald green is such a rich hue, especially when paired with black and gold accents, which make a very sophisticated palette and is somewhat masculine.
I also love this color in a neutral environment amid white. In this instance, it can be used as an accent or featured in a large-scale painting.
