My Variety-Detroit Luncheon Table Is Afloat With Treasures From The Deep

Kelly Wearstler’s designs create a swimmingly gorgeous vignette and inspire thoughts and ideas for my Variety-Detroit table this year.

I’m channeling the sea this week as I sink into an aqueous oblivion of colors and textures that echo the deep blue-greens of the ocean. Yes, there will be a mix of misty aquas, natural curiosities, and beautiful textures
swimming amid drops of gold and metal at my  table at Variety-Detroit Tabletops Luncheon. And even though it’s a few weeks away, I’m already over-the-top excited! One look at my table and you very well may feel like you’re in the tropics, where you float amid turquoise waters that sparkle with inviting aquas, rich emerald greens and glistening golds, all beneath a hot, hot sun.

The luncheon showcases the tabletop designs of some 30 metro Detroit designers who transform Pine Lake Country Club in metro Detroit into beauty central!

My inspiration is from renowned designer Kelly Wearstler and her gorgeous mix of textures and colors (see the image here).

The popular annual event will feature speakers, a delicious lunch and, of course, captivating tablescapes.

Proceeds go toward Variety-Detroit, a children’s charity. (Be sure to keep checking back here to see what I ultimately go with for my tabletop design!)

Have you been to this luncheon? What do you think? Is it a must-do in metro Detroit? What are some of your fave tables from the past?
