lights for holiday season

“Enchant with lighting”

“It is really about making your guests feel special and welcome in your home,” says Armina. So whether they are staying overnight or just visiting for dinner, you’ll want your guests to feel comfortable and cozy. To create an environment that embodies the holiday spirit, add candles for a warm and magical glow. Think hurricane candles, lanterns, votives and string lights – the more the merrier!

“Add holiday greenery and flowers”

Not only will festive foliage add a warm color to a table or mantle, but the fresh aroma will fill the room with a quintessential holiday spirit. “I love to layer different kinds of greenery” says Armina. Some of her favorite greens include “cypress, pine, olive, juniper, and eucalyptus.” And for flowers, this season, Armina is all about blooms in “blushed or frosted pinks mixed with rich, deep plum, mulberry, and purple.” Among her inspirations is this pastel bouquet featured on HGTV’s website. “Create a festive entryway”

“It sets the mood for the entire home,” says Armina. To add some festive flair, look outside the box and choose items with interest. A sculptural ornament or a unique tray filled with greens will delight atop a console table and maybe even provoke conversation at your next fete.

“Make your powder room luxurious”

‘Tis the season of giving, and what better way to do so then treating guests of near and far to a royal retreat. A small vase with fresh flowers and greenery warms the space while plush towels and a metallic mirror tray evoke a regal feel. Lastly, choose a scented candle. “I like Mine Design candles,” says Armina. “In cucumber mint for a fresh scent.”

“Turn your guest bedroom into a luxury hotel”

Make your guests feel truly special by transforming their living space into a five-star getaway with a few quick and easy updates. Armina suggests a glamorous tray to hold fresh flowers, a scented candle, a small jewelry dish, and a glass water carafe like the gorgeous crystal version featured on the news segment by Juliska. “I’ll add lemons and mint to flavor the water,” says Armina. Also you’ll want to provide your guests with a soft throw (cashmere for the ultimate in luxury) and extra pillows for late nights spent reading and relaxing.
