A Garden Theme Grows on Me for Variety’s Tabletops Luncheon

Variety-Detroit’s Tabletops Luncheon is about a month away (April 30) and I’ve got to nail down some ideas for my table setting! The lunch showcases the tabletop designs of some 30 metro Detroit designers who transform Pine Lake Country Club in metro Detroit into beauty central!

The popular annual event will feature speakers, a delicious lunch and, of course, captivating tablescapes.

Wouldn't this be a great fabric for my garden-themed table?

I don’t know yet what I’ll do, but so far my mind is wandering down a garden path of sorts. Vintage accents adorning a round table with some sort of check fabric from Romo (Melbury) come to mind. Not that I want to give away too much, but check out the photos here to see what I’m referring to. Can’t you just see a lovely springy lunch at this table (photo from Pinterest — Tiffany Davidson), using this  enchanting fabric? Note: it’s orchid — Pantone’s Color of the Year!

One of my New Year’s resolutions this year was to get more involved in community functions that help others. This luncheon is just the ticket! Proceeds go toward Variety-Detroit, a children’s charity. (Be sure to keep checking back here to see what I ultimately go with for my tabletop design!)

Have you been to this luncheon? What do you think? Is it a must-do in metro Detroit?  What are some of your fave tables from the past?
